An alternative to Tax1099

$200a year

1,000 accepted forms included, then 25¢ a form. W-9 collection and Copy B are inside that price, corrections cost nothing, and nothing counts until the IRS accepts it.

What this platform files

Form 1099-NEC, Form 1099-MISC, and Form 1099-K go to the IRS through IRIS. Their rate steps down as your count climbs, so a bigger January is cheaper per form than a small one, but every form is still a line on the invoice, and the parts of the job a firm actually does (e-delivery to recipients, collecting the W-9, TIN matching) are priced on top of it.

The same season, priced both ways

A firm filing 300 forms a year pays $555.30 at Tax1099 and $200 here: a difference of $355.30, before either side's add-ons.

List prices, no add-ons on either side. Tax1099's rates read from their own pricing page on September 28, 2026.

Federal e-file at list price, which includes corrections. E-delivery (25¢), print and mail ($1.90), TIN matching and W-9 collection (on the $349 Scale plan only) are separately priced and are not counted here. Read September 28, 2026

What each side actually does

Seven things a firm asks about, each side in its own words.

Show the seven rows

Our column is composed from the list of forms we file and, where that is not the question, the endpoint in the published API that does the work. Their column is what their pricing page said on the day it was read.

What each side does about transmission, corrections, recipient copies, W-9 collection, state filing, the API and bulk import: SimplifyGigTax from the forms we file (/coverage) and the product itself, Tax1099 from its own pricing page

Transmission to the IRS
Form 1099-NEC, Form 1099-MISC, and Form 1099-K, through IRIS

Tax year 2026, from January 2027, with corrections to tax year 2026 forms.

From the forms we file (/coverage)

Not on the page read

The fee table read prices e-filing of the 1099, 1098, 1095, W-2, W-2C and W-2G families. Its banner mentions “the FIRE-to-IRIS transition”; the table does not name the system a form goes through.

Corrections
Included, no charge

A correction is one route, and the corrected form is the same accepted form counted once, not a second one to pay for.

Included

“Corrected/Void form eFiling” is listed as included in all plans, with no separate fee published.

Recipient copies (Copy B)
Included

Rendered, furnished by email where the recipient's consent is on record, or printed for the firm to mail, one at a time or in a batch.

Priced separately

“IRS Compliant eDelivery: $0.25/Unit”, and “Print & Mail: $1.90/Form” domestic, “$4.99/Form” foreign.

W-9 collection
Included

A request link goes to the contractor, they complete it themselves, and a W-9 that arrived on paper is recorded against the same recipient.

Priced separately

W-9 and W-8 collection is priced by the pack, “For Scale Plan Only”: “1 Form $1.00; 25 Forms $7.00; 200 Forms $45.00; 1000 Forms $95.00”.

State filing
Partly

The state's copy goes through the IRS's Combined Federal/State program when the firm turns it on for a payer and the state takes it, and as an upload file the firm sends itself elsewhere. Nothing is transmitted to a state directly.

Priced separately

“Direct eFile: $0.99 per form”, and “CD-ROM or Paper filing: $10 per submission + $0.99 per form”.

API
Separate product

Send the data from whatever system already holds it, with no re-keying: the same endpoints the workspace uses, and corrections and bulk files through the same door. The API is a separate product with its own price; see the platform page.

Priced separately

The API comes with the “Scale: $349/year” subscription, on top of the per-form fees; “Essential: FREE” and “Teams: $249/year” do not list it.

Bulk import
Included

Download the template, upload the file, and see what every row will become (with its errors) before anything is created.

Not on the page read

“Bulk TIN Match: $150/10000 Records” is priced; importing forms in bulk is not mentioned either way.

“Not on the page read” means their pricing page said nothing about it on September 28, 2026, not that they cannot do it. A comparison that scored points off another company's silence would not be worth the time it takes to check.

Where Tax1099 is ahead

A far wider form list (1098, 1095, W-2 and 1042-S families), direct state e-filing at 99 cents a form, real-time TIN matching, and print and mail. This platform files 1099-NEC, 1099-MISC and 1099-K, sends state copies through the IRS's Combined Federal/State program or as upload files, checks a TIN's shape but does not match it with the IRS, and does not mail.

And the limit on this side

Form 1099-NEC, Form 1099-MISC, and Form 1099-K are the information returns that leave this platform for the IRS, and nothing is transmitted to a state. Every form we file.
